        Premise - most U.S. (and other?) families inherit major stress from the unseen [wounds + unaware-ness] cycle. My experience is that average men and women - including media and human-service profes-sionals - are unaware of this cycle and its toxic effects.

        This final self-study Lesson is for people who...

  • have experienced the benefits of using the ideas in this course to improve their lives;

  • are reasonably clear on their life's purpose,

  • are strongly motivated to (a) alert other people to these ideas and benefits, and to (b) stop the [wounds + unawareness] cycle from eroding their society, and specially for...

  • human-service professionals.

If you don't meet these conditions, this Lesson will be of little use to you. Either way, get quiet, breathe easily, and experience this 1-minute video about your life.

        This Lesson provides a framework you can adopt to fit your own personality and circumstances. Notice which parts of it - if any - energize you! Options - (a) print this guide and use it to track your pro-gress with these "assignments;" (b) review and discuss this Lesson periodically, e.g. on your birthday or January 1.

Lesson 8 Self-study Guide

__ 8-1)  Decide whether your true Self guides you now in most situations. If not, are you committed to              freeing your Self to lead your other subselves? If not, focus on Lesson 1 rather than this one.

__ 8-2)  See what you've learned by studying this course - take each of these these quizzes again.             Appreciate how the main topics interact with each other

__ 8-3)  Describe the [wounds + unawareness] cycle out loud to at least three people, and answer any             any questions. Notice how you feel about their reactions.

__ 8-4)  Summarize (a) the specific efforts you've made to break this cycle in your own life and family, and             (b) what's resulted, to at least one open-minded adult.

__ 8-5)  Refresh your understanding of how to (a) spot significantly-wounded adults and kids, and how to             relate effectively to them.

__ 8-6)  Review your understanding of the six psychological wounds caused by the cycle, and describe                 them to at least three average adults. Notice their reactions, and answer any questions they             pose. Option - refer them to http://sfhelp.org/gwc/guide1.htm

__ 8-7)  Review this ageless wisdom about personal responsibilities;

__ 8-8)  Review this article about avoiding Persecutor - Victim - Rescuer (PVR) relationship triangles.             Stay clear: you are not responsible for rescuing other people from the cycle (except dependent             kids).

__ 8-9)  Study this article on helping others to break the cycle. If you're a professional human-service             provider (e.g. an educator, medical or legal pro, counselor, etc.) also study these options.

        If these options make sense to you, then...

__ 8-10)  With your Self guiding you, decide how motivated you are about alerting others to the cycle and             its toxic effects:

__ not motivated  __ moderately motivated  __ very motivated.

__ 8-11)  If you're not motivated now, reconsider this Lesson as you mature (e.g. on birthdays) - you may               may develop an interest in alerting others in the future.

__ 8-12)  Choose which Lessons you want to tell others about (1 through 7)

__ 8-13)  Pick a target group to alert - local, regional, occupational, or national

__ 8-14)  Review the ways you can alert others - e.g. flyers, articles, seminars, speeches, Webinars,               blogs...

__ 8-15)  Review this article on responding to normal "resistance" to the [wounds + unawareness] cycle,               and add your own ideas.

__ 8-16)  Seek others who share your wish to inform, and collaborate.

__ 8-17)  If you have other passions, meditate on how you can use your enthusiasm to alert others               with the same passion to the cycle and these protective Lessons.

__ 8-18)  Watch for people who will join you in alerting others to the cycle and how to break it.

Enjoy the satisfaction of knowing your life-mission is vital!

Recap

        This final Lesson study guide offers specific suggestions on how to alert other people to the [wounds + unawareness] cycle and how to break it. The suggestions depend on your having made significant pro-gress on all the prior lessons - including breaking the cycle in your own family. This lesson, like the others, is an ongoing process. Well understood, adapted, and applied, they will become a way of life.
